Clinical Overview

What is a Carotid Artery Scan?

A Carotid Artery Scan is a duplex ultrasound examination that uses sound waves to create images of the carotid arteries in your neck. It assesses blood flow, identifies plaque build-up, and measures any narrowing (stenosis) that could impede blood supply to the brain.
